2006: The Journey Begins

Nate's football journey begins in Buena Vista, CO. A great community and great mentors lay the foundation for Nate's future success in football, and help him build the character he will need to embrace the challenges that lie ahead.

2010: God sets Nate on a path to spread His word

Nate attends the University of Colorado from 2006 - 2010. He is unanimously named NCAA Football All-American 2010.

2011: Nate and Lexi meet. Grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ

Fortunately for Nate, God places him at the right time and place to meet Lexi, the girl with "a gentle and quiet spirit." God knows our sin and unrighteousness, and still he places people in our lives that bring Him glory, even when we mess it up. God brings Nate and Lexi together for a purpose, and fills their hearts with love for God, eachother, and the world.

Ephesians 3:16-19  I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.


2011: God's plan for Nate unfolds

Nothing in this life happens by coincidence or chance. It’s all part of God's plan. At #17, the first round draft pick by the New England Patriots select Nate Solder from the University of Colorado.

January 2012: To him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine

In January of 2012, the Patriots win the AFC Championship. The small-town kid is now getting national recognition for his outstanding play on the football field. Who knew this was only the beginning? God charts a course for each of us that is more meaningful than we could ever imagine.

Ephesians 3:20-21  Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.


February 2013: Nate is baptized. Those who live should no longer live for themselves...

The acceptance of Christ as Savior and Lord inspires Nate to a higher mission. Years before it would have been an unbelievable step. However, the Gospel has the power to save even the worst of sinners. No matter who you are or where you have been, God is pursuing you.

2 Corinthians 5:13-17 If we are “out of our mind,” as some say, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here!


April 2014: When I am weak, then I am strong

A cancer diagnosis serves as a reminder of the weakness of the flesh and our dependence on God. Even at the height of Nate's athletic career, even at his peak fitness, God was, and is, still in control.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.


May 2014: Nate and Lexi are married.

Man was not meant to be alone. Lexi and Nate are a team and enjoy taking on life together.

Proverbs 18:22  He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the Lord.


January 18, 2015: What good is it to gain the whole world, yet forfeit your soul?...

In 2015, Nate scores the AFC Championship touchdown. But Nate's success teaches us that ultimate satisfaction does not rest in the achievements of this world.

Matthew 16:24-26  Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul?


February 1, 2015: If only I may...complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me.

In 2015, the Patriots win the Superbowl. At one point, Nate thought that football and success were his ultimate fulfillment. Now, having met Christ, he realizes nothing in this world can ultimately fulfill us, True Life comes from God alone.

Acts 20:24  However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace.


July 2015: Fearfully and wonderfully made

Lexi and Nate's first child Hudson, is born.

Psalms 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.


February 5, 2017: Store up treasure in heaven, not on Earth...

In 2017, the Patriots once again win the Superbowl. Nate now knows it does not matter how many Superbowl trophies you accumulate - you can't bring it with you when you die. Our time on earth is short and it is best spent living for things of eternal significance.

Matthew 6:19-21  “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.


April 2017: Teach your children

God blesses Lexi and Nate again, and they rejoice in gratitude for their beloved Baby Charlie. No greater blessing than a child, no greater responsibility than to raise them up in the way of the Lord.

Deuteronomy 11:19  Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up…


January 21, 2018: Making idols of this world

In 2018, the Patriots once again find victory in the AFC Championship. Be careful because even good things can be evil when we make them the greatest thing. Our lives should be prioritzed around God, not the alluring "trophies" of this world.

Deuteronomy 27:15  “Cursed is anyone who makes an idol—a thing detestable to the Lord, the work of skilled hands—


February 2018: He must become greater; I must become less...

In a decision to put herself second and Jesus first, Lexi takes the step of Baptism to outwardly express the inward movement of salvation.

John 3:27-30  A person can receive only what is given them from heaven. 28 You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah but am sent ahead of him.’ 29 The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete. 30 He must become greater; I must become less.”[a]


March 15, 2018: But you will receive power

In 2018, Nate joins the NY Giants. Nate's power on the field is impressive, but it is nothing compared to the power God has given him to inspire others towards a True Life.

Acts 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”


April 2018: "We don't just live here, we love here."

The move to New Jersey introduces Nate and Lexi to Hoboken Grace Church, which offers great opportunities for the Solder Family to do more of God's work with the help of kindred souls.

Matthew 18:20 ESV "For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”


February 2019 Trip to Uganda: Go into the world

Nate and Lexi partner with Compassion International to visit those in desperate need of resources needed for survival, and to bring the message of hope found in the gospel of Christ.

March 2019: Guatemala Trip

Lexi and Nate team up with Compassion International for a visit to the facility in Guatemala that is helping hundreds of children thrive. While there, an unexpected meeting of a special boy named Emerson impacts the Solders beyond measure.

March 2020: Solder Life Foundation begins

God's plan for Nate and Lexi inspires them to create the Solder True Life Foundation so that they may continue to do His handiwork.

Ephesians 2:10  For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Welcome Baby Emerson! God once again fills Lexi and Nate with His divine love

Psalm 127:3-5 ESV  “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate.”
